First and foremost, at Seeking, we feel that we need to make our position emphatically, and pointedly clear: we stand with the Ukraine.
Not only do we have more than 30 Ukrainian team members that we need to show support for, but we equally want to show our stance on this war as a whole. Our team members have been forced to flee their beloved home country, pack only a few suitcases of belongings, and they are now dispersed between Turkey, Poland and Romania.
Ruben Buell, COO of Seeking, said that he is “relieved to report that we are in constant contact with our Ukrainian team members and that they are all safe. They have all had to uproot their families and leave their homes behind during this conflict to keep their loved ones safe, and we are continuing to support them in every way possible.”
Despite the extraordinary tragedy that has turned their lives upside down, our Ukrainian team members are continuing to work hard— in the face of insurmountable odds, they are still honoring their commitment to the Seeking community. Seeking is doing everything that is within our power to keep them safe, and to ensure that communication between themselves and us stays constant.
In a show of support, Seeking is blocking all traffic from Russia from the platform.
While we care for all of our members in this community, we believe that this move is a necessary one in order to show our solidarity. As of now, our 250,000 all-time members in Russia are currently unable to reach the site.
Ruben added to this, saying, “While we never wish to exclude members from our Seeking platform, we cannot in good conscience allow our current Russian accounts to remain active or accept any new Russian members while this conflict continues. They will remain blocked until further notice.”
Brandon Wade, Seeking Founder, is deeply saddened by this situation, and he remains steadfast in his support of the Ukrainian team and of Ukraine itself. He is working diligently on measures to further the safety and well-being of our staff there, and Seeking is monitoring all developments as they happen.
“People of Ukraine. What is happening to your country today is the opposite of love. I empathize with each and every one of you, because you are facing the consequences of others’ bad decisions,” Brandon said. “In hard times like these, don’t forget to be kind, to feel more connected and to cherish those you love. You have united billions around the world who know the truth, in support of true love.”
Finally, we believe it is necessary for our Seeking community to visit Support Ukraine and learn about all the possible ways you can help; even doing a small part, in a collective, creates movement.
We hope for peace in both Ukraine and the world at large, and until that time comes, we will stand firmly by the sides of our Ukrainian coworkers.
